Musical Influence: Marvin Gaye – “What’s Going On”
“After watching the news on TV about kids killing other kids in school; child predators who lure kids via internet chat rooms and then sexually molest them; drive by shootings where kids aren’t safe to play in the street,… I simply got tired of it all and had to ask people: 'When’s the Madness gonna end?’ So here’s my attempt at providing some social commentary via song – ala Marvin Gaye. (Features the lovely background vocals of Ms. Lynne Arnette Gray & Ms. Nindali' Baerga Adcock).”

子供が子供を学校で殺したというニュースをテレビで見てから；子供たちをインターネット上で呼び出し、そして乱暴をする性犯罪者、子供たちが外で遊ぶのを脅かす動く車内からの路上射撃、、、これらに本当にうんざりし、僕は人々に問いかけるしかなかったのです：「この狂乱はいつ終わるのですか？」この曲は僕の社会に対する意見をマ−ヴィン・ゲイ風の音楽を通じて伝えたいという試みです。（リンアネット・グレイさんとニンダリバエルガ・アドコックさんの美しいバックグラウンドヴォ−カルにのせて）
Soundclip for Track #2: Okinawa Summer Nights
Musical Influence: Kalapana – “Paradise”
“Here’s a ‘fun’ song designed to celebrate the beautiful beach life (and the beautiful women), that can be found throughout this tropical island paradise known as Okinawa, Japan. Believe it or not, I wrote this song using a bilingual approach (English/Spanish), because there’s a very large group of people living here who actually speak both languages fluently. Who would’ve thought, right? And for those of you who don't know 'Kalapana', they're a fantastic band out of Hawaii that gained a large following back in the 70's for their signature 'island- style' music."

音楽的影響：カラパナ 「パラダイス」
この曲は、沖縄というトロピカルな楽園の島の美しいビーチライフ（そして美しい女性）を祝福するための「楽しい」１曲です。なんとこの曲は、バイリンガル（英語とスペイン語）のアプローチで作ってみました、何故なら沖縄には、この両方の言語を流暢に話す人々が多く住んでいるからです。信じられないですか？ また、カラパナを御存じ無い方にご説明すると、彼らは７０年代を代表するハワイの素晴らしいバンドで、独自の「アイランドスタイル」ミュージックは当時大人気となりました。

Musical Influence: Michael Franks – “Night Moves”
“Every album that Michael Franks has put out has been a huge influence on me as a songwriter. But his first album, "The Art Of Tea”, was in my opinion, his absolute best. So in writing this song, I wanted to provide some acknowledgement to Michael Franks for the significant influence he's had on me as a songwriter. And I hope I’ve done an honorable job of that through the writing of this song. This track is one of the many love songs that I’ve written over the years for my beautiful wife, Mina. (Love ya, Babe!)”

音楽的影響：マイケル・フランクス 「ナイトム−ヴス」
マイケル・フランクスが出している全てのアルバムは、ソングライターとしての僕に多大な影響を与えています。その中でも彼の最初のアルバム「ザ アート オブ ティー」が一番だと僕は思います。この曲を書くにあたって、マイケル・フランクスが、ソングライターである僕に与えてくれた影響に感謝を述べたいと思いました。この曲が、彼の名誉に値するものであれば良いのですが。またこの曲は、僕が美しい妻のために多く作ったラヴソングの中の１つでもあります。（愛してるよ ベイブ！）
Soundclip for Track #4: Your Love Has Set Me Free
Musical Influence: Shakatak – “Night Birds” (but with a Latin flair)
“I initially wrote this song with a simple Bossa Nova format. But after my Musical Director played around with the 'feel' of the arrangement, it quickly evolved into a whole new musical masterpiece. His efforts really brought this song to life and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Man, what a groove! This song was also written for the love of my life, Mina, while I was out on the road traveling and longing for her to be in my arms again. As for 'Shakatak', they were an amazing band that sprung up during the 1980’s, and their album ‘Night Birds’ played in my car stereo for so long, that I nearly wore out the tape in the cassette player of my car!”
トラック＃４：ユア ラヴ ハズ セット ミ− フリー
音楽的影響：シャカタク 「ナイト バーズ」（ラテン系）
最初、この曲はシンプルなボサノバのフォーマットで作りました。その後、ミュージカルディレクターがアレンジメントの「雰囲気」を弾いてくれた時、全く別の新しい名曲に瞬時に進化したのです。 ディレクターの協力によって、この曲に命が注ぎ込まれ、出来上がりは大変気にいるものとなりました。なんというグルーヴでしょう！この曲も、僕が長い間旅に出ている間に、最愛の妻、ミナのことを思い、彼女をまた腕の中で抱き締めたいという気持ちを描いたものです。シャカタクというバンドは、１９８０年代に登場した素晴らしいバンドで、彼らのアルバム「ナイトバーズ」は僕のカーステレオで何度も聞きすぎた為、テープが破れてしまいそうになる程すりへってしまいました！
Soundclip for Track #5: Party At Tobacco Road
Musical Influence: Michael Franks – “Sometimes I Just Forget To Smile” (Also from "The Art Of Tea" album)
“The image I intended for this song was a dimly lit, smoke filled jazz club somewhere in New York City. And I think we were able to achieve that image here. But the truth is, there really was a club called 'Tobacco Road' on Okinawa during the 1990’s. I remember back in ‘92, a good friend of mine named Steve Bradford, (who’s an AMAZING guitarist in his own right), introduced me to a guy named, Akira Hiramoto, who owned the place. (Akira is also a great guitar player). And over the years, the three of us become very close friends and even worked together in various music-related Gigs throughout the island. But our favorite place to play for years, was ‘Tobacco Road’. I wrote this song in honor of that wonderful place and all the great people I came to know there. Unfortunately, 'Tobacco Road' had to close it’s doors in late 2001 – what a shame. But the memories of those great times will live on forever!”
トラック＃５：パーティアット タバコロード
音楽的影響：マイケル・フランクス 「サムタイムズ アイ ジャスト フォーゲット トゥ スマイル」（同じくアルバム「ザ アート オブ ティー」より）
この曲で表現したいと思ったイメージは、ニューヨークのどこかのタバコの煙あふれる薄暗いジャズクラブです。この曲で、そのイメージを上手く出す事ができたと思います。でも本当は、「タバコロード」という現実に存在するクラブが１９９０年代の沖縄にはあったのです。９２年に、僕の仲の良い友だちだったスティーブ・ブラッドフォード氏が（彼自身すごいギタリストです）、店のオーナーである平本明氏を紹介してくれました。（平本明氏もすばらしいギタリストです）そして数年をかけて、僕達３人はとても仲の良い友人となり、一緒に音楽の演奏を沖縄全土において行いました。その中でも、僕らが演奏するのを一番好んだ場所が「タバコロード」でした。この曲は、その素晴らしい店への敬意と、そこで出会った方々に向けて書いきました。残念ながら「タバコロード」は２００１年に閉店となってしまいましたが、本当に残念です。でも当時の素晴らしい思い出は、永遠に生き続けるでしょう！

Musical Influence: Al Jarreau – “We’re In This Love Together”
“Here’s yet another love song that I wrote for my wife, but this one has more of a ‘Pop’ sensibility to it. For those of you familiar with Al Jarreau, he’s another one of my major musical influences, but more so as a Vocalist than anything else. (Man, can that Cat blow!) So here’s my sincere attempt at honoring 'The Master', while attempting to sing ‘sweet nothings’ to my lovely wife, Mina.”

音楽的影響：アル・ジャロー 「ウィア イン ディス ラヴ トゥゲザ−」
この曲も僕の妻に向けて書いた曲ですが、これはポップな感覚の曲です。アル・ジャロー氏を御存じの方々にお伝えしたいのは、彼は僕にヴォーカリストとして音楽的影響を与えた主なミュージシャンであるということです。（なんと素晴らしい歌い手なのでしょう！）この曲はこの「名人」に対しての敬意を表す僕の誠実な試みで、それに愛しい妻のミナへの愛のささやきのメッセージも入れたものです。
Soundclip for Track 7: All I Need
Musical Influence: Antonio Carlos Jobim – All his music
“Here’s a pretty little Bossa Nova tune that I wrote for my wife about 5 years ago. (Yeah, I know what you're saying, "Man, this guy's crazy about his 'ole Lady" right?!") At the time, I was really into Bossa-style music, and of course, with A.C. Jobim being the true master of that genre, this song logically tried to mimic his romantic style. And even today, I still find myself being reeled into the sensual beauty of Bossa-style grooves, especially on those rainy days when we're stuck indoors – Long live Jobim!”
トラック＃７：オール アイ ニィード
音楽的影響：アントニオカルロス・ジョビム 「彼の全ての音楽」
この曲は、僕の妻のために５年ぐらい前に書いたきれいなボサノヴァのメロディです。（皆さんが主って入る事は分かっています、本当に奥さんのことが好きなんだなってことでしょう？！）その当時、僕はボサノヴァに入れ込んでいたので、このジャンルの真の王者であるACジョビムのロマンチックなスタイルをもちろん取り入れたいと思いました。未だに、この色っぽく美しいボサスタイルのグルーブには心引かれます、特に雨の日に外に出ないで家にいるときに − ジョビムよ、永久に！

Musical Influence: Doobie Brothers “Listen To The Music”
“This is a song I wrote especially for my Father, as he's been the primary role model for me in this life, not only as a Man, but also as a Father and as a working professional. Some of the things my Dad taught me include: To have faith in God above all else; To never sacrifice your Honor nor your Integrity for an easy way out; To stand firm to your convictions, even in the face of challenge and controversy; And to recognize the importance of maintaining a strong, loving Family unit at home. So for my Dad, this song is my way of saying 'Thanks' for always being there to Reach Out Your Hand when I needed it!”

音楽的影響：ドゥ−ビーブラザーズ 「リッスン トゥ ザ ミュージック」
この歌は、僕の父宛てに作りました、彼自身が父親としてだけではなく、働くプロの模範そのものとして常に僕の人生の目標となってきた人だからです。僕の父が僕に教えてくれたことのいくつかとして：何ごとにも増して、神を信じる事；楽な道をとろうと、自身の名誉や誠実さを犠牲としない事；逆境や議論の中でも、自分の信念を強く持つ事；そして、強い絆と愛のある家族を維持する事の重要さを認識することなどです。この曲には、いつも必要な時に手を差し伸べてくれる存在の父親に対して、僕からの感謝を込めています！

Musical Influence: Billy Joel – “Just The Way You Are”
“Here’s yet another love song that I wrote for my wife, Mina. (Can you tell that I'm crazy 'bout that woman?!). This is the one I used to propose marriage to her, as noted on the “Making of an Album” page of this website. I guess you could say that my wife has been my musical ‘Muse’ with regard to songwriting, not only because of her natural beauty, but also because of her enthusiastic approach toward life in general. Yep,… she’s definitely the Lady of my Life!”
トラック＃９：ソ− イン ラヴ
音楽的影響：ビリー ジョエル 「ジャスト ザ ウェイ ユー ア−」
またしても妻のミナのために書いたラヴソングです。（この女性に狂っているということが分かりますよね？！） この曲は、ウェブサイトの「アルバムのメイキング」のページ内でも記したように、彼女にプロポーズをした時に使った歌です。妻は、彼女の自然な美しさだけではなく、人生に対して一生懸命であるということからも、僕がソングライティングをする際の音楽的なミューズであると言えます。そうです、彼女は本当に僕の人生の最愛の女性です！
Soundclip for Track 10: Love Will Guide Your Way
Musical Influence: Steely Dan—“Kid Charlemange” (with an attitude!)
“Here's a song I wrote suggesting that if we focus on Love above all else, we can pull ourselves through any difficulty that life may toss our way. This song kind of ‘evolved’ in the studio after about 40 minutes of everyone ‘jamming’ over my chord progression and listening to my vocal lines. Its Jazz/Rock/Fusion at it’s best, with some killer breaks, funky accents in-unison, and soaring solos by our guest Sax player, Mr. Akio Suzuki. And believe it or not, after deciding on how we wanted the song to 'feel',... we punched the 'Record' button and captured this song in one take. Man, this song ROCKS!”
トラック＃１０：ラヴ ウィル ガイド ユア ウェイ
音楽的影響：スティーリ− ダン 「キッド シャラメイン」 （ちょっと気どった感じの！）
この歌では、何ごとよりも愛に関して注目をし、人生で起こり得るどのような困難をも乗り越えていこうという提案をしています。この曲は、僕が書いたコード進行と僕のヴォ−カルラインとを、スタジオ内で４０分程、皆でジャムセッションした後に自然と「出来上がった」曲です。ジャズ／ロック／フュージョンの最高の盛り上がりで、参ってしまうブレイクとファンキーなアクセントが一緒になり、サックス演奏者、鈴木明男氏による高音のソロありとなっています。そして、信じられないかも知れませんが、このような感じに曲を仕上げようと皆で決めた後、録音のボタンを押して、１回の収録でとれた曲がこのレコーディングです。なんてロックなかっこいい曲なのでしょう！
