As noted previously on this website, the first big "break" for Carlos came when he was asked to provide vocal support on 6 songs that were recorded for the Japanese Rock group " JET" on their 2005 CD release, "Rock 'Til The Morning Sun". Featured below is a song from that recording titled, "Sunset Days", which showcases Carlos singing Lead and 2-part harmony over his own voice.

In the beginning, Carlos performed mostly Solo Acoustic in a variety of small clubs on Okinawa, where he would rearrange the chord structure of well known cover songs, in order to give them a different texture or "feel". In the following example, Carlos is performing at the Buscena Terrace Beach Resort and takes an inventive approach to a song that was first made famous by "The Police".

Carlos was also lucky enough to be a part of various bands performing on Okinawa, to include the group "Fast Forward", who went on to become one of the more popular variety bands to play on the local club circuit in Okinawa. Here's an example of Carlos performing a classic "Boz Scaggs" tune, along with his bandmates: Mike Robles/Drums; Scott Carlisle/Guitar; Terry Morris/Keyboards; and Yo Yasuda/Bass. This recording is from a show they performed at the Kadena "Rocker" Club.

Here's another example of Carlos performing Solo Acoustic, while taking a different approach on a well known song by Steven Stills. This recording was taken from a performance Carlos had at a popular club in Koza City called Mod's Jazz House and features a guest vocal apprearance by Mr. Timothy James Fluen who happened to join Carlos on stage with Background Harmony/Chorus.
